Cleared — Privacy Policy

• There is no account. No name, no email address, no password, no sign-in.
• Everything you enter stays on your phone. The developer cannot see it and has no copy of it.
• The app does not have Android’s internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
• There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting and no in-app purchases.

These are stored in a database inside the app’s private storage on your device, and are never transmitted:

• what you are quitting, when you quit, how much you used and what it cost;
• your smoking history, if you choose to give it;
• slips you log — when, what you used, how many and, optionally, what set it off;
• periods when you went back to regular use;
• each craving you rode out, with the activity you used;
• your daily craving and mood check-ins.

Nothing. The app is built without the internet permission, so Android does not let it open a network connection at all. It works the same in aeroplane mode.

The app lists the research and health guidance behind its claims, and links to national stop-smoking services. Tapping one of those links hands the address to your browser, which opens it in the normal way. The app sends nothing, and no information about you travels with the link.

If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally by your phone’s operating system. No push server is involved and no device token is transmitted.

Settings → Export as JSON gives you a copy of everything the app holds. Settings → Delete everything permanently erases it from the device, and uninstalling the app removes it too. Because there is no cloud copy, deletion is final.

Cleared is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
