Coo — Privacy Policy

• Coo works without an account, and until you choose to share, everything you enter stays on your phone. We cannot see it.
• Android backup is switched off for Coo, so your log is not copied into your Google backup.
• There are no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no trackers and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
• Signing in is optional. If you sign in and agree to share, your family’s log is stored on our server in Germany, and only then.

Unless you choose to share, everything Coo holds is stored on your phone only:

• the care log — feeds, diapers, sleep and pumping, with their times, amounts and notes;
• your baby’s name, and any other names you call them;
• your baby’s birth date and due date;
• your app settings — units, the kinds of entry you have hidden, theme, quiet hours and language.

Without sharing, it stays on the phone, and we cannot see it. Android backup is disabled for Coo, so none of it is copied into your Google backup.

• We do not show advertisements.
• We do not use analytics, a crash-reporting service or trackers.
• We do not include third-party SDKs that collect data.
• We do not sell or share your data.

Signing in is optional. You need it only to share your log between phones. Sign-in is with your Google account, through Android’s own account sheet.

We receive and keep your Google account identifier, your email address and your display name. We do not get your password, and we do not store your profile photo or any Google access token. Your sign-in session is kept on your phone in Android’s secure, Keystore-backed storage.

Before anything is uploaded, Coo asks for your permission. When you agree to share, your baby’s care log (feeds, diapers, sleep and pumping, with their times, amounts and notes), your baby’s profile and your family settings (units, time zone and the kinds of entry you have hidden) are stored on our server, so that the phones signed in to your family can share them. Everyone in your family can see the log and add to it. Your theme, quiet hours and language stay on each phone.

We keep a record of your permission: when you gave it, which wording you agreed to, and the app version and language you used. For 30 days the server also keeps a technical record of each change it received (an identifier, and whether it was accepted), so that a change sent twice is applied only once.

The server is a virtual machine hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany, in the EU. Data travels to and from it encrypted, over HTTPS.

Under the GDPR, we process your account and family data because it is needed to provide the service you ask for (Article 6(1)(b)).

Your baby’s care log is health-related data about a child. We store it on our server only with your explicit consent, which you give in the app before anything is uploaded (Article 9(2)(a)). If you choose “Not now”, nothing is uploaded and your log stays on your phone. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account.

Data on our server is kept until you delete your account — or, for a family’s shared log, until the family’s last parent deletes theirs.

Deleted data disappears from our backups within 14 days: daily database backups are kept for 14 days, and whole-server images for 7 days.

Technical records of individual changes are deleted after 30 days.

You can delete your account in the app, under Settings → Account → Delete account, or by email — see how to delete your Coo account.

Deleting your account removes your account, your sign-ins and sessions, the record of your consent, and your family membership. If you are the family’s last parent, the family and its whole shared log are deleted too.

The log on your phone stays on your phone. To remove it, uninstall the app or clear its data.

Coo is for parents and carers. The data is about a baby, and it is entered by the parents. Children do not use the app.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable form, to object to how it is processed, and to withdraw your consent. To use any of these rights, contact us at andrzej@lechdigital.nl.

You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

We update this policy before adding any feature that uses data differently — for example inviting other family members, Premium or AI features — and revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
